Will there be mass suicide during the year 2012? As many of us know, there is a Mayan prophecy that says there will be a major catacalisim on the date 2012 December 21. Many people are scared about this. What are the chances of there being mass suicide during the year of 2012?

I’m not going to say definitively that there won’t be any mass suicides during the year 2012 because I honestly don’t know.
What I do know is that the year 2012 is notable because I hear that it has the most prophecies attached to it than other years.
Not only does the mayan calander run out, but a renegade scientist thinks that a massive polar shift will happen wiping out the entire human race. What will happen? We’ll have to wait and see.
I doubt it very much. I think the whole thing will begin to lose steam even before the date of December 21, 2012.
I also think that believers on the 2012 stuff would not likely want to kill themselves. They will want to be there for the big day and see if they are right about any of their predictions.
Do u seriously think that this ‘prophecy’ will come true….. people cant even predict the weather properly, n they only get it right bout 1/4 of the time anyway, never mind getting the prediction of a mass suicide right…..
i doubt its gonna happen….i think someone would be a lil bit foolish or stupid like to believe anything like this is gonna happen.any1 who believes this must b quite gullible to be honest.
I don’t know about 2012, but I do know that the suicide rate rises in difficult finical times. It rose during the great depression, and experts think it will now during this great recession. There has already been a 50% rise in calls to suicide hot-lines.
Nope. None. People are too into it to not want to live to see it.
You also have to take into account that many believers in this stuff believe that 2012 will be a year of transformation and lots of good stuff. Its not all doom and gloom to them.
Now if an Asteroid were on its way to make a direct impact with Earth, and we knew exactly when it would hit and we were powerless to stop it, thenYES I think you would see mass suicides. But that is just not the case here
I seriously doubt suicide will go up leading to 2012. We’re always about to die of some massively detructive event. Besides it’s supposed to be an asteriod that hits earth during that year and i’m pretty sure we would have spotted it coming this way by now!
Honestly, I don’t believe this at all. Remember Y2K, or 666? Did anything happen on those days? No, nothing. People are getting all worked up over this, but there’s no proof that anything is going to happen. I may be wrong, but my answer is no.
There is not a cataclysmic event predicted. It is simply the end of the Mayan calender, an ancient and legendary calender.
It will be a huge build up and let down like Y2K, then we will move on to the next date and start freaking out about that one.
Nothing to the 2012 stuff. Just some hype & near the date, more sales of bottle water & toilet paper to suckers who buy into the crap.
