Why Are People Trying To Scare Us With 2012?
I mean, the National Geo channel, they show all kinds of stuff about 2012 being the end. IDK about you but id actually watch episodes talking about 2012 negatively, by that i mean things that dont make sense, now theres a movie about it, do the producers believe it or what? My question is why would they try and force you to believe it? Even though i know its very profitable, i dont think its right.

Because there is money to be made and lots of it. Remember PT Barnum ‘There is a sucker born everyday.’ People love that kind of nonsense and always have. Date setting is part of the human psyche and there are hundreds of dates on record for the last 2,000 years. Remember Christ’s disciples believed the world would end in Nero’s reign. Knowledge and careful inquiry is part of forming an opinion. If people want to derive their opinion from junk science then there is nothing new under the sun.
Of course it is very profitable. Movies, books, and all of this other hype is creating a massive hysteria amongst the population. Imagine near the end of 2012. I predict gas prices skyrocketing, price-gouging in every supermarket, all due to the massive propaganda of the wild theory of the world ending in 2012. The government actually tells scientists and other media sources to spread this kind of theory to create a common public interest. This also happened with global warming, which has been proven to go in cycles and our air polutions has nothing to do with it. Yes your right, it is wrong, and don’t believe it for one second. If you believe in the Bible, read in revelations 5:3 “And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look theron.” No one anywhere will be able to predict the end of the world. I believe that 2012 is the least likely year for the end of the world. I hope this helps.
The ignorant and uneducated will always be scared and taken advantage of by the media or government. Why does no one remember that the Methodists thought the world would end in the year 1033. the1000th year of Christs death, and they all gave away their possessions and waited on a hill for who knows how long thinking the world would end. Anyone who thinks or plans on the world ending shows a serious lack of logic, historical education, and an ability to think for themselves. It’s like “The news says the world will, so it must be true”.

because some really old guys hundreds of years ago said that was when the world was going to end. now that it’s getting nearer some weird people are getting scared that they were right. blah blah blah. i can’t believe stuff like that; i, and im sure many other people commenting on here, have already lived through about 10 “end of the world”s.
Fear is the most profitable industry on earth. It is the foundation of all authority, the occupation of all the privileged parasites that produce nothing but fear in order to exploit producers. Fear is the basis of the trinity of Satan; religion, politics and economics.

Fear is a powerful motivator for human behavior…isn’t surprising that people with an agenda that requires the cooperation of others would use fear to motivate others to participate in their plans.
…and on that note, I think “they” (people with a hidden agenda) are doing a lot more than the 2012 crowd to scare us about H1N1 (swine flu)…ever wonder what agenda might be motivating that fear campaign?

The more scareful is the movie more it sells popcorn and coke, like the Freudian Theory about breastfeeding, so it is trend to fuss all folks with gloomy fear.
Right has nothing to do with it.
Profitable has everything to do with it.
It’s the other way around. People are stupid and superstitious, and want to see more 2012 stuff, making the networks comply.
