who thinks yoga is effective on curing depression?
i am taking it but receive no result!if you have had an experience please tell me about it i will be grateful
*i am 19 and i use a high amount of nerve drugs under the observation of a good psychologist

Any kind of aerobic exercise will help alleviate (NOT cure) depression. Meditation exercises are not always good for people with depression or other emotional health problems because if not properly taught or supervised, they can become more depressed or have more problems manifest. Forms of yoga that are aerobic and condition the lymphatic system and nervous system–such as 3HO Kundalini yoga *may* help with lessening symptoms of depression and anxiety disorder–but they are NOT the same as medical or psychiatric intervention and shouldn’t be substituted for them.

It’s not a cure but it can really help. Sometimes it takes awhile before you can learn to get into the right mental state for yoga so that you can see the benefit. But it can help you learn to quiet your mind and get rid of negative thoughts.
Cardio exercise can also help a lot. the so-called runner’s high is real and you don’t have to be a runner to get it. Anything that gets your heart rate up for 30 minutes or more will do it.
Any type of meditation will help with depression! But don’t just stop taking the medication either. It is going to be tough getting used to meditation, but it gives you a form of control that you never would have thought that you had. Plus it gives you a great since of Peace. Find a Cd of oceanic music, that always helps me the most.

Yoga helps to relax and create that mind/body connection. up on my experience, it is a great and effective natural way to get rid of stress, and get healthy.
You will need to keep it, and go on with your practice. The deep breathing exercises will help you wonderfully.
