What Will Really Happen In The Year 2012?
I have heard lots of different things about this year. Like the whole world ends, or just the internet ends. I am getting confused. So what will really happen in the year 2012?

Nobody this side of heaven really knows. I think that 2012 is going to be just another year.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

Scientists don’t expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.
None of the “predicted” happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. “Planet X” and “Nibiru” simply don’t exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn’t line up with the galactic centre; it’s 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.
All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don’t take any of it seriously!

A lot of stupid explanations why the world didn’t end will be invented…
Some people say that 1 Huge Meteor will come down and hit the Earth and destroy it. I do not believe that will happen. You can go on youtube and type in “Walk with me in hell” Its a song but it shows a huge meteor hitting the Earth and its really similar to what people think. Just look for the meteor picture on the video when you search for it.
You’ve heard some things, so now you need to do some research.
None of the “events” that are supposed to end the world or life or whatever have any scientific basis.
There is no asteroid headed on a collision course that will hit us in 2012.
The sun will not align with the galactic centre (and even if it did that wouldn’t affect anything since the centre is 25,000 light years away hidden behind clouds of dust and gas).
The planets won’t align with the Earth (their orbits are all tilted by some amount and they are never in a straight line, and even if they were it wouldn’t affect Earth).
Nibiru doesn’t exist.
There are other claims, but this is getting so tedious to explain that I’m giving up now.
Just to clear up what seems to be a misunderstanding regarding alignments. ANY two points anywhere in the Universe can theoretically have a line drawn between them. Therefor, it is impossible for any two points NOT to be aligned. Alignment in mathematical terms only becomes an issue when three or more bodies are involved. As far as the Solar System and the center of the Galaxy are concerned, they have been aligned since the day the Solar System formed!
One astronomical event that is known to be occurring and that will occur in 2012, is a Transit of Venus on June 6th, 2012, 8 years after the last one in June 2004.
