What Is Going To Happen In The Year 2012 As The Mayan Calendar Ends?
The mayan calendar ends in december 2012 at the exact same time the the winter solstice begins. The Hopi Indian tribes have some interesting things to say about this incident and the previous 3 times it has happened to our planet. Could it possibly be a complete polar shift as our galaxy moves into a particular allignment in its universal rotation around the supermassive black hole at the center(ie… the planet must magnetical realign by shifting its axis 180 degrees as it moves to the other side of the “universal magnet” or something else)…any input appreciated

It doesn’t end. The long count date is 13.00.00.00.00 and the next day is 13.00.00.00.01. It just POINTS at that date, which is the winter solstice of 2012. But it’s not when the “winter solstice begins”–the solstices (like the equinoxes) are simply points in time.

The basics:
Due to precession of the equinoxes, on the morning of 12-21-2012, the sun will come up against the background of a dark spot within the Milky Way. The ancients considered this spot the birth canal of the universe. (In fact it is very close to the center of our galaxy.) So what happens when the sun comes out the birth canal? It’s being born (reborn). That’s what the date points to: the rebirth of the sun. The sun symbolizes our world. So we’ll have a new world.

as i know it and i know a lot. the myans have had cycles and they belive that the year 2012 is the end to the 6th cycle and the beginging of the 7th and that some major event might happen. now since out calanders are so closely based on theris i belive that something will happen but not like the world ending but a major event.

Perhaps the three days of darkness occurs.
Catholics are very aware of this and I hope ppl read up on it and prepare for it. (Even if you don’t believe in it, please prepare yourselves.)
They will introduce the NEW Mayan calander that will extend till 2036.
I also remember hearing that the Mayans set the date of the end of the world as December 23,2012.
These were the same people who set the date for the coming of the White God over the Big Water and actually sent a boat to meet him on the given date. They met Cortez.
Not that he was actually a god,but his arrival did set in motion the introduction of Christanity in that part of the world.
Not that any of this proves or disproves anything but I’ve
always found it interesting. I’m also curious about what may happen on that day. As for the galaxy moving into a new alignment in the universal rotation at that time-it’s
possible but somehow I don’t think any Event that may take
place will be connected to astrophysics on such a huge scale.
The Mayan calendar does not end in 2012. It mearly goes to a new leading digit.
The Maya calendar was actually THREE separate calendars, running concurrently: the civil calendar (365 days long, no leap), the religious calendar (260 days long) and the long date–the count of days elapsed since the supposed founding of the Maya civilization. Your reference is to the third calendar, or the “long date”, and all that will happen is that the leading 12 will be 13.

The Mayan date 13:00:00:00:00 will be followed by the Mayan date 13:00:00:00:01, without problem… There is no end of the world; just a larger base-20 value for the baktun…

The Mayan Calendar predicts chaos on that day.

If you believe the world will end in 2012 I got some bad news for you: it is the year 2012 now…
Dionysos, who was commissioned to create the christian calender to get rid of the old roman, was off by 6 years. He used jesus birth as year 1. He should have used year 0. Screw up #1. He then tried to determine the time of jesus birth. He did this by calcualting backwards from years the roman emperors ruled and getting a timeline. Get got the timeline of emperor Augustus wrong. He thought Augustus ruled from 27 bc but he had already ruled for 4 years as Octavian. Another 5 years off. 5 years instead of 4 as Dionysos again didn´t count year 0. He went from year 1 bc to year 1 ad. So jesus was born in 6 bc making the year 2006 actually the year 2012…

the world is probably going to end.several other predictions have been made that the world is going to end on dec 21st 2012……5 yrs to go….
I’m going to guess there will cease to be mayans…
if i remember correctly i read a book on this, in which they stated that the mayans predicted an apacolypse/ armegeddonn. This means the end of the world as we know it.
why do you care- it could be another millenium change crisis that turns into nothing
I believe that the mysterious planet X will return to Earth and our creators/enslavers will come back to create and enslave us again. Only now there isn’t enough gold to satisfy them and we will be really in trouble.
The Alien fleet that created the human race arrives back in our solar system. for them only a few months will have elapsed. The Mayan calendar is a countdown to that event.
