What Do You Think About The Theory Of The World Ending In 2012?
So the world is supposed to end on December 22, 2012. Or so some people believe. What are your opinions on this?

They say December 21st, 2012, usually.
And it’s about as silly as Y2K.
Even though most people raise their eyes to heaven and go ‘not again’, there are researchers who do believe that something will happen on 21 Dec 2012.
This is the end of the Mayan Calendar and it coincides with the winter solstice and also a particular planetary alignment where the sun is supposed to block the view of the other planets from the earth. What is to happen is anyone’s guess but it is supposedly a phenomenon that occurs every 26,000 years or so.
Some researchers say that it is not for the world to be worried as the calendar was made by the Mayan people for the Mayan people and that whatever happened would only have consequences on their own society.
Others have a New Age approach and say that a new way of thinking will be ushered in, one where the major religions will lose their dominance over people and everyone will feel ‘at one’ with the universe.
Whatever the theories, there don’t seem to be many doomsday scenarios floating about.
By Dec 21st 2012, I personally hope to be getting ready for Christmas.
My opinion is that most people who don’t believe in their own intelligence and aren’t confident in their faith, will listen to anything that sounds profound and scientific.
I watched the program on TV regarding this so-called ‘theory’ and it is the same ‘theory’ that the world was told for the Millennium when the world was changing from the 20th century to the 21st. Scientists and technological programmers all over the world were terrified that millions of computer systems, especially ones that contained banking information, personal information, and billions of zillions of data information of political information, military information, medical records, etc were going to shut down completely or be accessible by foreign countries. Millions of people around the world were really frightened of this. NOTHING HAPPENED!
The 2012 incident is no different. The only real thing that will change is that the large clock built down in Brazil by the Mayan people, will allegedly stop. After that, there is no proof or ’scientific evidence’ of anything changing or “ending”, just as during the Millennium.
There could be an asteroid barreling through the atmosphere as I type this. It could end in 5 seconds. But it probably won’t. If there was any chance there could be anything to prophesies, and by logical extension if it was possible for humans to predict the future, someone would have used this power to decisively predict the markets and take over the world.
Weather it happens or does not happen, everyone’s personal end of the world is within 120 years max. We will all die within 120 years, there is no reason to fear or dread 2012 or be weary about it. Death is natural and we all will face it one day. Live your life and be happy.
2012 is an elaborate theory, nothing more.
Actually, the supposed “end of the world” is going to happen on december 21,2012 (which is my best friends birthday,lol).
I’m not saying it won’thappen but i’m not saying it will happen. If its going to end in 2012, then why not end the world now?? it would save alot of time. We have a choice to make it or break it. If we keep all this bullcrap going on in the world(aka:war) then it might as well be the end of the world. Oh big whoop, an ancient calander ends. our calender ends on december 31st and u dont see people going around “OMIGAWD ITS THE END CUZ THE CALENDER IS ENDING” people are going to say “happeh new yearrs!!” hahaha. How can the world end with all these time zones??? Its today in one place then tomorrow in another (like the U.S and China ) if the world ends at midnight on the 21st in the U.S, its already been the end of the world in china(if that makes sense to u) so that’s all i got to say. I dunno, i heard that somehow the world will change for the better or something like that…but Im pretty sure its not gonna be the end of the world…but we are soooo lucky, we’ll get to actually see something happen

The end of the world has been predicted hundreds of times and none of them have come true yet. Just look at the history of the JWs or the 7th day adventists. Why should some old Aztec calandar mean anything?
There is no theory on the world ending in 2012.
