What Cataclysmic Events Are Suppose Happen On December 2012?
I know the Mayans and Nostradamus predicted the world will end on December 2012? Do you know what cataclysmic events are suppose to take place?

The 2012 doomsday prophecy is a hoax, and there is plenty of scientific evidence that the world will *not* end in 2012.
The Maya didn’t predict the end of the world (their calendar simply reaches the end of a cycle, and the Mayan civilization disappeared before they needed a calendar for the next cycle). Earth is not going to get hit by a giant planet (if it were, we would have seen it by now, and its gravity would be affecting the orbits of everything else in the solar system). The sun will not line up with the center of the Milky Way (it can’t; the center of the galaxy is in the wrong part of the sky). The planets are not going to align (it’s physically impossible; and even if they could, their combined gravity wouldn’t be enough to disrupt anything on earth). The earth’s poles will not abruptly reverse (the geographic poles can’t; the magnetic poles can, but it takes thousands of years). The sun will not flare up and poison the earth (it goes through regular 11-year cycles of solar flare activity, and 2012 is just another peak). Nostradamus didn’t give any specific dates for anything (he was too smart to make that mistake in his “predictions”, which the 2012 doomsayers aren’t).
Do you remember the Y2K doomsday predictions? The 2012 doomsday predictions are just as accurate. The people behind the 2012 hysteria are in it for the money. They sell lots of books and videos to people who don’t know any better. A lot of them were saying the same thing about 2003, and when the earth survived they picked 2012 because of the supposed significance of the Mayan calendar. When 2012 comes and goes and we’re all still here, they’ll just pick another date and sell more books and videos.
> What cataclysmic events are suppose happen on
> December 2012?
None.
> I know the Mayans and Nostradamus predicted the
> world will end on December 2012?
Did they really? Where did you read this? The Mayan calendar runs out on December 21, 2012, but they made _no_ predictions about what would happen then. None at all. And Nostradamus seems to have predicted anything anyone wants, provided they read it into his ramblings after the fact.
> Do you know what cataclysmic events are suppose
> to take place?
None. The most interesting astronomical events in 2012 will be an annular eclipse of the Sun on 2012 May 20, a total eclipse of the Sun on 2012 Nov 13, and a transit of the planet Venus across the face of the Sun on 2012 Jun 06.
Scientists don’t expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, except for the solstice, which happens every year.
None of the “predicted” happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. “Planet X” and “Nibiru” simply don’t exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn’t line up with the galactic centre; it’s 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.
All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don’t take any of it seriously!
According to any reliable sources, none. None of the claims by the doomsday prophets are based on science, just wild speculation. The people writing the books aren’t scientists and are just trying to make money. Here are some of the promoters of the 2012 hoax.
Zecharia Sitchen – an author, not a scientist, a proponent of the ancient astronaut theory, the Annunaki, and Nibiru.
Mark Hazlewood – author of a book predicting Planet X to come in 2003
The Hysteria Channel – promoting doomsday scenarios to increase viewers and sell advertising.
The Mayans didn’t predict doomsday. It is just the end of the current cycle of their Long Count calendar.
Nostradamus didn’t predict it. He never mentioned 2012 and all the Nostradamus “quotes” being thrown around aren’t what he actually wrote. They are what some people have decided that he meant. Even Nostradamus scholars don’t agree on how the various centuries and quatrains should be interpreted.
The Bible never mentions 2012 or references it in any way. It talks about the end times, but there is no mention of when.
Nibiru/Planet X doesn’t exist.
The Sun isn’t going to be aligned with the center of the galaxy.
There is no actual planetary alignment. Sometimes the planets appear to be aligned in our view of the sky. This is a long way from actual alignment in space.
Geomagnetic reversal – These reversals of the magnetic field have occurred in the past, as shown by magnetic striping, but we can’t predict when they will occur again. However, the time between reversals is not constant, varying from less than 100,000 years, to tens of millions of years.
Although fast by geological standards, reversals are by no means quick on the human time scale. They take roughly 5,000 years, with estimates ranging from 1,000 years to 8,000 years.
Solar flares – These do increase and decrease in an eleven year cycle. They haven’t caused any serious problems in the past. The direct effects of solar flares are mainly related to communications and radio transmissions. We had a major series of solar flares in 2005.
Previous end of the world predictions
2800 BC – 1700 AD – 67 predicted dates
You can go to the abhota site to read any or all of the predictions. However, I count 394 predicted doomsdays, 381 of which are in the past. We’re still here.
2800 BC – 1700 AD – 67 predicted dates
1701 – 1970 – 92 predicted dates (years often duplicated)
1971 – 1997 – 68 predicted dates (years often duplicated)
1998 – 1999 – 51 predicted dates (all for 1998-2000)
2000 – Now – 85 predicted dates
Future – to 2011 – 18 predicted dates
2012 – 2040 – 13 predicted dateshttp://www.universetoday.com/2008/05/19/…http://www.etsu.edu/physics/etsuobs/star…
For Real: NONE
In the retarded mind of the 2012ers
it will be the end of the world because
1. Nostradamus said so
2. The Mayan calendar ends
3. An Ouija Board said so
4. There will be a pole shift
5. There will be a planetary alignment
6. There will be a galactic alignment
7. An asteroid will hit earth
8. Planet X/ Nibiru will appear
9. Some crystal skull nonsense
10. We are heading into a photon belt (whatever that’s supposed to be
11. Indian Astronomer said so
12. The Sun will blow up
13. Some Volcano or Earthquake
14. A Black Hole will come along
15. The experiments in CERN’s LHC
16. The Aztecs said so (2012ers aren’t really good at making a difference between them and the Mayans)
17. The Arabians said every 60,000 years something bad will happen
18. The Swedish scientist that are trying to recreate the big bang (2012ers don’t know the difference between Swedes and Swiss either)
19. Time will speed up
20. Nibiru will turn the sun into a supernova
21 Gravity will implode (don’t ask what that’s supposed to mean)
Ah, you know it? Can you tell where both said so, and how both describe this end? Or do you just believe what people write on a homepage, without providing proper sources to check the claims?
The Maya did not predict the end of the world – especially not in 2012. The Maya made prophecies for 4772 CE – They predicted that King Pacal of Palenque will still be worshiped then. The first person to claim that the Maya predicted the end of the world in 2012 had been a New Age believer in the early 1970s. The Maya had been dead for almost a millennium then, without them predicting their fate.
Nostradamus wrote a lot of nonsense, but never a working prophecy. He even sorted his predictions in centuries beginning with the 17th, but you will never find Nostradamus fans mention for which century Nostradamus wrote this or that Quatrain. If you search in the complete English translation (Nostradamus original text was written in a strange mixture of French with invented fantasy names), you will suddenly find out, that the WW2 prediction these parrots repeat, was actually for the 24th century, that the WTC was meant to happen in the 18th and that Britney Spears will have a comeback in the 21st century.
Nostradamus has the same predictive power as the telephone book of Boston – if you just have enough words and phrases to choose from, you can find always something to drag out of context and quote. And as Nostradamus only wrote nonsense gibberish, there is also no context. Aside of one: As deeply catholic man, Nostradamus predicted all bad events to cities involved in the protestant reformation. Geneva should have been flooded, burned down or otherwise destroyed for about 5 times until today.
As you claim you know that the world will end, don’t your great magical sources also tell you what is supposed to happen? Cataclysm is a old Greek word with a clear meaning: Great Flood. This limits the meaning of cataclysmic a lot. The New Age use of Cataclysm is a not related to the original biblical meaning of cataclysm.
We will see us in 2013.
The Mayans did not predict anything.
Nostradamus did not predict anything for any specific date. He wrote in cryptic rhymes, which can SOMETIMES be applied loosely to events AFTER they’ve happened, if by some coincidence they describe ANYTHING like it.
You’ve been getting your info from unreliable sources. Trust me. There is nothing that has been said about Dec 21, 2012 that hasn’t been thought up to make money for the people putting it forward.
I can make better predictions than Nostrdamus. How’s this:
Within 30 minutes, there will be 3 thumbs-downs for this answer, and an answer from an idiot called “Spiritual Paradigm Shift” who will imply that other answers like mine are all from the same user, and that nothing bad has ever happened in history up until now.
Analog TV will finally cease in Australia, but maybe before December.
The London Olympics which will probably be in June will be a darn nuisance for Londoners.
On 20 December 2012, or a few days before, the Yahoo Answers servers will burn out from being overloaded with idiot questions about 21 December 2012.
About the same time the History Channel HQ will be attacked and burnt to the ground by a mob. Some will suggest that they were enraged astronomers and other scientists, but others will say it was the ghosts of the Mayan astronomers and mathematicians who did not care to be misrepresented by modern woo-woos, frauds, nitwits and media scumbags.
On 21 December 2012 Nibiru will finally reach the neigbourhood of Earth and the Annunaki will invade, hoping to enslave humans again to mine gold for them. Imagine their disappointment when planet X also appears out of nowhere and causes a pole shift, thereby making a really big mess of Earth and probably Nibiru too.
Simultaneously, all the planets in our solar system will align as the Earth enters the photon belt around the Seven Sisters, creating a spiritual paradigm shift among humans, whatever that is.
The Earth passes through the galactic central plane and the Earth, Sun and the galactic centre all line up. This will of course send the Earth spiralling into the Sun, or maybe away from it, or maybe not, just as a solar storm rages up and causes another pole shift on Earth, putting the magnetic pole right back where it came from, maybe.
Meanwhile, the Earth is being pounded by large asteroids, running out of oil and all the bees will drop dead as global warming boils the oceans.
On 24 December 2012 many people who bought survival guide books and video will want their money back. Lots of websites will disappear and so will lots of clips from YouTube. Those who had the sites and the clips will of course deny any knowledge of them, or that they even existed.
25 December 2012 will be Christmas Day as usual, which is often a disaster for some people.
The ufo community is chatting about this too. There is rumors that in 2012 Aliens will make them selves known to all humans on Earth. Something the governments of the world have been despreatly and unsuccessfully trying to hide.
December 21st 2012, My B-day! one heck of a party! Have to get some LAZORS and smoke and stuff. Everyone is invited!
Well, first of all. HOW did they Mayans make a prediction like that? SOOO far back?
Today we just decide to shrug it off. ‘LIES!’ ‘NONSENSE!’
Because humanity changed and we only believe wat we see!
Think outside of the box!
No one really knows when the world will end, it could end at anytime. The mayan calendar did run out, but they also mysteriously disappeared too. SO if they disappeared, then of course their calendar will end. That’s my thought to it.
Mass suicides of the 2012 doomsday proponents and those who believe them would be cataclymic but will bring a lot of relief to this crazy world. Other than that, nothing!
Everyone will spontaneously do a barrel roll.
According to reliable sources?
None.
Yes… the calendar is going to RUN OUT!!!!!
dun dun dunnnnn
