<p>Susanne had a panic attack one day after a flight. She started the attack when the plane was airborne and went to a doctor as soon as it touched down. She thought she was having heart attack symptoms, but also felt she was a bit too young for such a thing to happen. Her doctor told her she had actually had a panic attack and prescribed her some medication.</p>
<p>Worldwide millions of people endure the terrible symptoms of panic attacks. A panic attack is defined as a sudden surge of incapacitating   fear that suddenly comes without warning and without any obvious reason. Although many panic attacks can last for over half an hour, some unpleasant symptoms can last longer. </p>
<p>Today, more than at any other time in history, being anxious, tense or nervous is part of the world we live in. There are hundreds of thousands of people who are suffering from panic attacks today.</p>

<p>You probably know someone who is depressed. You may be wondering about yourself. The way you feel right now&#8211;does it fit the definition of depression? Clinical depression is a serious illness that affects millions, so you are right to be concerned. Understanding depression is a good first step toward treatment. Let&#8217;s see if we can figure this out together.</p>
<p>Feelings of sadness are normal. Everyone experiences a blue mood once in a while. But when feelings of sadness become your only feelings, and when a blue mood turns into a persistent black cloud, you may be suffering from depression.</p>
<p>Depression is an illness, a mental disorder that overwhelms your mind and body. It is not a transient mood that can be dismissed. The victim of depression is powerless to command it to leave. It changes how you think and how you feel. It essentially changes who you are and affects how you interact with others.</p>
<p>So how can you tell the difference between actual clinical depression and normal feelings of sadness. Essentially it&#8217;s about intensity and time. The feelings associated with depression are much more intense. Your character and your ability to cope with reality become severely affected. It becomes almost impossible to function on a daily basis.</p>
<p>Two weeks is typically the threshold for diagnosing depression. If after a negative life experience you are still withdrawn and sad after more than two weeks it is possible you have entered into a depressive episode. Without treatment a depressive episode can last for months, sometimes years.</p>
<p>How is depression treated? The good news is that depression is very treatable. Combining therapy with medication is usually quite effective. Investigating some of the newer &#8220;Energy Therapies&#8221; such as Emotional Freedom Techniques or Tapas Acupressure Technique can bring some impressive results and can be done in conjunction with traditional methods.</p>

<p>Technically, a headache, or cephalalgia, is a symptom of a number of different conditions of the head and sometimes the neck too. They can be classified into two main categories: primary or idiopathic, and symptomatic, although there are other ways of classifying them too; for example by severity.</p>
<p>Put simply, primary headaches have a known or unknown cause, whereas symptomatic headaches are often the result of injury. Primary headaches include: migraine, tension headaches, cluster headaches and coital headaches, amongst others.</p>
<p>Coital headaches, also called coital cephalalgia or sexual headaches, is a rare, but painful form of headache that starts in the nape of the neck during sexual intercourse, but before climax. It can occur in all conditions where climax is the expected result. The pain can move to behind the eyes and can then become even worse. Typically the pain will last from a few minutes to an hour or so, but it has been known to last for days in the worst cases.</p>
<p>It is surprising to many to discover that men are three times more likely to experience coital headaches than women and the age groups most at risk are those between 20 and 25 and 30 and 44. Doctors do not really knows why this should be. Coital headaches afflict about one percent of the population, although this number could be a lot higher because of people being embarrassed to discuss it. </p>
<p>Coital headaches are benign, meaning that they have no long-term ill effects, as far as we know. It seems that people taking sexual stimulants, like Viagara, are about 10% more at risk to a bout of coital headache. In fact, besides the obvious, temporary pain, the worst effects of coital headaches are differing levels of dizziness, confusion and stiffness of neck.</p>
<p>However, it is still worth while visiting a doctor though, especially in the beginning, just to exclude the more severe causes of headaches, such as brain tumours and blood clots. However, the doctor can do rather little to help by way of treatment. He could suggest a complete abstention from any form of sexual activity for a period varying from days to weeks or he may recommend trying taking medication some time before sexual foreplay commences.</p>
<p>Some of the headache medications that may be taken are <i>indomethacin, imitrex, zomig</i> and <i>propranolol</i>, although if the headaches continue, your doctor could recommend daily preventive medication. People suffering from frequent coital headaches may experience a positive response to migraine preventive medications, such as <i>beta blockers</i> or <i>verapamil</i>. Non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) such as <i>ibuprofen</i> may similarly be helpful. Coital headaches and migraines are also more likely to occur if a person is in poor physical shape.</p>
<p>However, the treatment for coital headaches for a lot of people can be as simple as bringing your weight up or down to the normal weight for your size. Coital headaches can also be cured in some sufferers by an increased level of exercise, although this could bring on exertion headaches in a few cases.</p>
<p>Now the good news is that most headaches related to sexual activities are not at all serious in nature. In fact, research actually states that orgasm can relieve headaches and even migraine in some cases. This means that for some adults, refusing sex may actually be the cause of their headache in the first place.</p>

<p>There are about six million people all over the world with panic disorders and regularly experience panic attacks.  Panic and anxiety attacks are frequently mistaken as heart attack.  The following are signs and indicators of panic attacks, and how you can get rid of panic attacks. </p>
<p>Women are twice as susceptible to suffer from panic attacks than men, According to the Anxiety Disorder Association of America.  Panic attacks are also more likely to occur in young adults versus older people.  If you are middle aged and have not had a panic attack, more than likely you will not have one in your lifetime.</p>

<p>The panic attack sufferer will feel many symptoms like extreme sweating, muscle spasms and shaking, and intense heart rhythms, to name a few.  He may also have an intense fear of dying or becoming insane, and may feel nauseated.  Other indicators such as extreme numbness and tightening of the chest can convince the person that he is actually having a heart attack.</p>
<p>Going to a public place, or operating a motor vehicle are just a couple of things that can affect a person suffering from recurrent panic attacks.  Trying to live with the pain is one of the worst things someone can encounter during panic attacks.  The best way to get rid of panic attacks is ask for help first, but resort to medication right away, as this may not be the solution. </p>
<p>There are many ways to treat this problem, from medication to simple breathing techniques.  If you are experiencing panic and anxiety attacks to the point where it is affecting your everyday life, then you should look into getting rid of panic attacks naturally.  Getting direction to overcome this problem is a much better solution than pretending it will just go away on its own.</p>

<p>According to the ancient Hindus, chakras are the human body&#8217;s main energy centers; they are acknowledged as an essential part of our life force which help keep our mind and body functioning together harmoniously in top-notch condition. Although not physically visible, chakras are associated with our body&#8217;s major endocrinal glands (which are visible).</p>
<p>Chakras are responsible for regulating the energy that flow into and from our body. This continuous interplay of energy within our body, the environment and objects we come in contact with ultimately requires that our chakras remain in balance in order to be able to function as best as possible for our benefit.</p>
<p>Our seven primary chakras each correspond to a particular part of our endocrine system. Everything we experience is intimately related to our chakras.</p>
<p>Physical, emotional and mental stress can cause imbalance in the function of our chakras and when this occurs we feel lethargic or show signs of physical illnesses. This illness is a manifestation that there is something not right about how our chakra functions.</p>
<p>For our body to reap the benefits of a well-tuned chakric system, they need to be functioning in harmony with one another. Chakra balance is essential to maintain its beneficial function to the human body and to achieve this, regular chakra balancing is necessary much like a car&#8217;s preventive maintenance procedures.</p>
<p>Importance of Chakra Balancing There are many different ways to balance your chakras; others are always being developed to help people reach a state of perfect balance in their chakras. This is the goal of those who want to have a more healthy, happy and productive life.</p>
<p>This all begins with an understanding that each chakra resonates to a different frequency; these frequencies are naturally occurring and help the chakras to perform their important function of transmitting and receiving energy; also known as prana or chi.</p>
<p>During periods of illnesses, our chakras are still functioning but may be out of synch which can hamper the free flow of energy to further aggravate our physical and/or mental and emotional illness. Other contributory factors to the malfunction of our chakra system are undue stress or the inability to cope, suppressed emotions, unhealthy food intake, and lack of exercise.</p>
<p>Though they may be out of synch and not function at their best from time to time, their balance can be restored.</p>
<p>Tools of Chakra Balancing: The most common tools used to restore the balance of chakras are color, crystals and gems, light, sound and aroma therapy.</p>
<p>Colors: Commonly used colors and their corresponding chakras are red (the root chakra), orange (the sacral chakra), yellow (the solar plexus chakra), green and turquoise (the heart chakra), blue (the throat chakra), violet (the crown chakra) and white for any of the seven primary chakras.</p>
<p>Crystals and Gems: For millennia, laying gens, crystals and stones on the body at the location of the chakras has been used to restore chakra balance., Each chakra corresponds to a different color; so laying a stone of this color on the bodily area which corresponds to it can help to reach the proper balance, which in turn helps the body to heal.</p>
<p>And because crystals and gems reflect light which results in various colors, the resulting play of light and color into the body through the chakra points also result in the balance of the chakra system.</p>
<p>Light: Light therapy employs light not only on the eyes, but also on the reflex points and the meridian points of acupuncture to restore chakra balance. The broad spectrum of light is very beneficial here, including both visible and invisible frequencies, including those corresponding to the chakras.</p>
<p>Aromatherapy: Aromatherapy is the use of scented candles, fragrant massage oils and bath soaps in order to capitalize on the   healing properties and physiological effects of the chemical ingredients of plants? essential oils that make up the base product. Essential oils are able to clean, set free and restore an individual&#8217;s stability of thoughts and emotions because they can affect a person&#8217;s mental, emotion and spiritual aspects. Aromatherapy is generally employed to relieve stress, promote physical and mental relaxation, combat fatigue and depression and as an aid to meditation.</p>
<p>Sound: The use of tuning forks, soft music, quartz crystal, Tibetan bowls, and other objects to generate an agreeable resonance is also utilized to achieve a healthier well-being. Sound has natural vibration and resonance therapeutic effect because it affects us emotionally. Beautiful and melodious sounds can induce serenity and calm whereas chaotic sounds produce dissension and discord. Sound can be used to achieve a quiet and peaceful atmosphere in order to better faster healing and achieve higher levels of consciousness.</p>
<p>Until very recently, chakra balancing was a difficult process which could take a great deal of time. However, technological advances in the audio field have brought us binaural frequencies, subliminal sound and self-hypnosis recordings; all of which have made chakra balancing much easier to achieve.</p>

<p>Acupuncture, which can be used to treat a broad range of conditions and is a treatment which encourages the patient&#8217;s body to cure itself, is one of the oldest medical procedures in the world. It had its origins in China, more than 2500 years ago; some even believe it to be as long as 4000 years ago.</p>
<p>Acupuncture. Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific points along the body either by needle, laser, or by pressure. The stimulation of these points causes a chemical cascade in the body that creates an optimal environment for the body to heal itself. There are no side effects as no outside chemicals are introduced. Acupuncture needles are &#8216;hair thin&#8217; and are not painful like regular needles.</p>
<p>Acupuncture is a method of curing illnesses through the insertion of needles in targeted points in the body for improved stimulation. The needles used for acupuncture are very thin. They are only a little thicker than a human hair. The main purpose of acupuncture is actually to normalize the flow of blood and balance the yin and yang in the body but, because it is very effective in curing certain diseases, it is now used as an alternative healing method.</p>
<p>Acupuncture is used in the treatment of pain but not for that sole purpose only. Since many studies showed that acupuncture had the ability to relieve pain it was thought that it only had that purpose. Acupuncture is used in a wide variety of treatments for various ailments.</p>
<p>There are two common terms in the traditional Chinese medicine system. They are yin and yang. Yin is thought to be the cold, passive or female principle whilst yang is thought to be the hot, active or male principle. They are two opposite forces. A state of harmony is said to be achieved when these two opposing forces are in balance. If there is an imbalance of the two, the flow of vital energy or natural energy is blocked and it is believed that disease and all other ailments come about as a result of this imbalance. This imbalance can occur when a person is depressed, due to grief, anger or fear, stressed or when it is very cold, very hot, humid, windy or dry. Factors such as an improper diet, exhaustion, overwork and too much sex can bring about this imbalance as well.</p>
<p>It is actually very difficult to find the cause of certain diseases through acupuncture alone, because you will have to observe how a person responds to treatments and stimuli very closely. Therefore it will take a very talented and experienced acupuncturist to correctly diagnose an illness. You should also note that acupuncture is not only used to cure diseases, it can also be used to relieve back pain, muscle pain, or to just stimulate the flow of your blood so you feel energized. For example, a symptomatic treatment is a very difficult procedure because it requires that the acupuncturist remove the symptoms of an illness. The acupuncturist must know the critical acupuncture points he should stimulate and he must be knowledgeable about how the point relates to other parts of the body.</p>
<p>Acupuncture for memory poor circulation is an effective method. Usually poor circulation leads to chronic headache, migraine and nausea. Acupuncture inserts needles on various points of the meridian and thereby reduces all types of diseases. With improved blood circulation enhanced by acupuncture, you are also benefited with sharper mental clarity, enhanced concentration, enriched sleep, positive feelings about life and healthy appetite.</p>
<p>Acupuncture is very important for treating insomnia, depression, and anxiety. Insomnia is a disease that prevents people from getting proper amount of sleep throughout the day and night. Acupuncture involves inserting needles on various points of the body and reducing energy blocked in the veins. This helps in sending a series of complex signals to the brain, which promotes relaxation and sleep.</p>
