Spotting The Signs Of Depression

Do you feel down all the time? Maybe you’re constantly tired, but seem to never get enough sleep? What about feeling worthless or like your simply not good enough for anything? If you’ve answered yes to these, you may be suffering from depression.

Learning how to spot the signs of depression is as simple as learning more about the disorder. Something you can do through education and reading up on depression as often as you have time. Not being interested in things that you use to do, that’s another sign.

Not wanting to have communication with friends or family, feeling as if people hate you even. That would be the worthlessness coming through again, but it’s all things you will think. Low or no sex drive, many people will cut themselves off from everything.

Online you will find quick little tests that you can do, they will let you know whether you have depression or not. You should always seek out a doctor as well to get help. A therapist may be used in many cases too.

Medicine will be used for most people who are suffering from depression. But they can take a while to get into your body. Meaning you’re going to have to deal with the depression while you wait and see if it works or not. If your first prescription doesn’t work the doctor will try another.

Medicine can be used to help out many of these symptoms, but it can be a long road. Most medicines that they will have you try will take around three to four weeks to get into your system. Which means you will need to put up with the way you’re feeling for a bit longer.

What is even worse is fighting those feelings of not being good enough for another three or four weeks only to have the medicine not work. Then you will need to start all over and try yet another type of medicine. Most important during this time is to seek out a therapist and talk through those problems.

Finding a friend who is available to talk to would be a good choice as well. One who will answer anytime you call and be able to talk you through the depressed feelings. You will have at least one person in your life to do that, good friends are like that. This person will be one of your closest friends and know how to make you laugh even when you feel like crying.

Even once you’ve found a medicine it’s not a cure, you will still have symptoms at times. You’re not going to completely be better. So keep those therapy appointments to help work through ways of fending off the depression as well as you can. Talk to your friends and don’t close yourself off. Live a life that is full of fun, and attempt to do things that bring a smile to your face. Most of all don’t decide to take your life because of depression.
