So what’s the deal with this 2012 thing?

enlightenment 2012

Is it the end of the world? Does anyone know what is going on with this thing? What will happen on 2012? I’ve heard it’s going to be an enlightenment. What does that mean exactly?

  1. I heard its going to be this year …….

  2. Not technically end, but a New World Order, which is what Mayans proposed, and what coudl possible be the start of the “end” of the Christian world as the Anti-Christ takes over.

  3. I dont know if its the end of the world, only the Father knows when the world will end. I know that God is working a revival for the youth! Praise the Lord for it!

  4. The Mayan long count calendar ended in “zeros” on Dec. 12, 2012, so the Mayans predicted that would be the end of the earth.

I wouldn’t regard that with much seriousness, though. The Mayans were very intelligent, but I doubt the end of the world is coming any time soon.

Enlightenment in the form of the gospel being broadcast as a witness for the first time to the entire world.

End will not be in 2012.

    But the end is near.

Yes, it’s the end of the world. Send me all your stuff, and I’ll keep it safe for you.

  7. Same as the 2000 thing. A nice number that the weak minded pick hoping that their pathetic existence ends. It is just a number. If the Mayans were such experts why are they extinct? Nothing to the end of the processional wobble, just a solar phenomenon.

  8. What? Me Worry?

It is strictly a cock and bull story. End of comment.

  9. Nopthing will happen on 12/ 12,/2021!
Thatg is the day that the Mayan calender ends, so people think the world will end!!!

    GOTTA LOVE STUPIDSTITION!

  10. it’s a joke nobody not even Jesus himself knows when the end of time will be. All I can say is if your not ready for it you better get that way cause you never know when your time will be up.

  11. its nothing

the world is not going to end in 2012

  12. The_Doc_Man

What it means, exactly, is…. NOTHING.

The 12/21/2012 thing is baloney being spread by some people who fear the non-existant, they fear mysticism, they fear others who make predictions based on non-reality. Here is the reality.

The Mayan calendar has a “long cycle” that ends on that date. But on 12/31/99 (or 12/31/00, depending on your opinion of the start of the cycle), the “western” calender ended a long cycle. And NOTHING happened.

That 2012 crud is just someone engaging in self-aggrandizement, trying to look important because that someone “knows something important.” Except it ain’t so important. Nor is it real.

Trust me, the folks making the 2012 noise are just attention-seekers looking for their 15 minutes of fame.

  13. They ran out of stone and couldn’t finish carving the calendar.

People who think that there is any significance to “2012″ need to think back to the whole “millennium” freak-out,… and the total lack of any occurrence at that time.
Then they should have their heads examined.

I totally agree with Doc Man

  14. Followers of New Age spirituality have long turned to indigenous religions for wisdom and inspiration, so it has not escaped their notice that something big happens in 2012: the ancient and complex Mayan calendar—studied by astrology, spirituality and history buffs alike—has chugged along for 1,872,000 days, and its cycle stops (and restarts) on Dec. 21, 2012.

Speculation over the 2012 cycle change has spurred a growing cottage industry. Amazon.com shows more than 100 books on the subject, with titles like “Doomsday 2012″ and “2012: You Have a Choice!” A number of spirituality conferences are already convening. This month in New Mexico, spiritual seekers will gather for a “2012 Ascension Symposium,” which promises to “offer humanity global reassurance and change the Consciousness of the world”; metaphysics author Geoff Stray is giving a series of lectures on 2012 throughout 2006 and 2007, including at the UFO Conference in Nevada in February and a “Healing Conference” in Jericho, Israel, in May.

To add to the frenzy, it just so happens that the years building up to 2012 mark an unusual astronomical alignment, one so rare it occurs only in 30 out of every 26,000 years. During this period, the Sun will make its annual crossing of the galactic equator—the plane that bisects the Milky Way as it appears in the sky—on the same day as the winter solstice. So what does all this mean? A small group of doomsayers believe a life-ending cataclysm is on the horizon. Patrick Geryl, a Belgian researcher, says he believes the alignment will trigger a reversal in the magnetic fields of the Sun, causing it to get 10 or 20 times hotter, which will reverse the Earth’s rotation on its axis and flood its inhabitants (mainstream astronomers don’t agree).

Meso-American scholars are far less concerned. In Mayan cosmology, time proceeds in cycles—not in a straight line. “The world collapses, but then it gets reborn,” says Davíd Carrasco, professor of Latin American religions at Harvard University. (The Maya believe the same thing happens when the Sun rises and sets each day.) Literary-magazine editor Daniel Pinchbeck, author of “2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl,” sees the new cycle as an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth. Instead of looking at the completion of the 5,125-year cycle as “the end,” Pinchbeck suggests that 2012 “could be more like the birth of the world.”

  15. I will eat like 4 huge bricks of Velveeta cheese in 2011. In 2012 the constipation will finally break down, and that, my dear, will be the end of the world.

  16. It’s yet another ”end times’ fad that’s entered popular culture …just like 2000 1900 1000 and a myriad of other unfounded prophesies

  17. i believe it’s the Mayan calendar that has predicted it. i’m not worried. i’m a christian and i don’t believe God would let the world end just like that. a lot will go on before the ‘new heaven and earth’. tribulation takes 7 years, and from today, that would make it 2015. and at that , the world as we know it will have an ending, so to say. but God also said no man can calculate the time when he comes back.

Do not worry. Do not be scared. I assure you that the world will not end on 2012 December 21 but it will end one day. Nostradamus’ prediction of when the earth will end is far into the future, past about 3700. He still has many prophecies that are not fulfilled yet. Remember that if there is a beginning, there is an end.

The Mayan’s Mesoamerican Long Count calendar forms the basis for a New Age belief, first forecast by Jose Arguelles, that a cataclysm will take place on or about 2012 December 21 (Wikipedia). It will be the end of a Mayan calendar cycle to start a new cycle.

In the book of Revelation, it tells us about a period of a thousand years of peace. Has this occurred already since the time of Jesus? Not yet. That will still come. Those that give predictions of the world’s end, such as 2012 and numerous times during the past, are pseudo-preachers. Have they talked to God directly? If so, give proofs.

But there is something that is certain—and that is our physical death. This is what we should prepare for. It may come when least expected. We do not know the day and the hour. It will come like a thief in the night. So we just have to be prepared all the time. Search for the true God and when we find Him, follow His commandments and remain in Him until our last dying breath.

This is all that we have to do. It is faith in the true God that we can take with us when we depart from this world. If we denied Him, He will deny us also before the Father in Heaven and send us to Hell. This is very scary – to live in Hell forever. If we knew Him and loved Him and followed His commandments, then He may reward us to live with Him eternally in His kingdom in Heaven. This is the survival kit that we should have.

What is also certain to happen very soon (in about 2012 or earlier) is World War III and this is a nuclear war. This “calamitous war” (as Nostradamus called it) will start from the Philippines, at Spratly Islands in particular. The Spratly Islands lie on the southeast part of the South China Sea mostly near the coast of the Philippines. The Holy Spirit told us that the Philippines is the wick of a gas lamp. Once the wick is lit, it will be on and aglow. He told us about this prophecy about two decades ago. He said that the troubles in the Philippines will spread to the whole world until mankind is almost annihilated and a few will remain. Spratly Islands is being claimed wholly by China, Taiwan and Vietnam; and partly by Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines, It is considered a tinderbox, a flash point. It is very rich in oil and gas resources, more than the reserve of Kuwait. The high price of oil may trigger the grabbing of these islands and start the war.

Four independent prophecies point to the certainty that this will happen. These are Nostradamus’ prophecies to happen around this time (quatrains 6:24 and 2:62) , the 56th Chinese prophecy of Tui Bei Tu (the past 55 prophecies have already been fulfilled) found at and Wikipedia, Revelation 9:18 of the Holy Bible, and those that the Holy Spirit revealed to us. If you are interested in the details about these prophecies, please send me your request via email.

After the calamitous war, then we will have a new age, a spiritual awakening, an enlightenment, and peace for a long time. The population would have been reduced by a third and there will be much arable land that will be available. People will be living in planned cities and communities.

Isaiah 35:4 (KJV) states: “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense; he will come and save you.”
