Is Anyone Else Concerned About The Prediction Of 2012?
I watched a program on the History channel this week about 12/21/2012. I think astrology carries some merit and I wonder what other peoples’ opinions are.

Astrology has absolutely no merit whatsoever. It has the same validity as teacup reading. The prophesies of 2012 are cobbled together from bits and pieces of mythology and nonsense from various primitive cultures, and have no scientific basis whatsoever. They are lies designed to fool the naive, to scare little children. I find it shocking that the History Channel should be a party to this charade.

if stars could predict how people act….. then we wouldn’t have the problems we have in society, since it could all be predicted.
nor do I believe 2012.
there is claimed evidence, but under analysis and comparison, no shred of evidence makes a solid example.
well that BS documentary (that really downgraded the HSTRY channel) is ollddd news seriously I saw that last year and it’s so historically incorrect. I’m not going to give you the hole 2012 and predictions lecture but that there is a lot of contradiction out there especially on the internet. Just don’t worry, nothing will happen. Nostradamus has actually predicted the ‘end of the world’ earlier this decade and the world hasn’t ended, this money scam is nothing new.
People are just close minded and dont want to believe anything bad could happen, all you have to do is look at is history and you will see that this 2012 “predicition” is backed by nothing but fact. Im not even going to get into the facts because these fake astronomers in here just arent bright enough to add them all up and make an educated analysis, all they know is what their TV feeds them, they are the kind of people that you could march right into a slaughter house and they still wouldnt realize they are about to die. Im pretty confident that I know whats going to happen, surely not the end of the world, but a great change in Earth and life on Earth, the way I see it is that the world needs to be destroyed so that it can be cleansed of not only the pollution we have caused, but also of the human mind and its drive to focus life around money. If you believe in a higher power, then you would know that GOD did not intend for lives to be centered around money and materialism, we are about to receive a wake up call. People can surivive this or they can die with their arrogant beliefs, all you have to do is research your *** off and you will find the information needed for your own survival, this is what GOD wants you to do. Dont rely on yahoo answers to make your decision for you, you have a brain, use it. It took me over a year to figure out what was really meant by “the end of the world” as many people like to refer to it as. I now have a new meaning to my life, I know what needs to be done, and I wish I had others who were with me, but only the strong will survive, and I can tell you from experience, the strong usually arent the average person, they are the ones who find their own answers and always look for more understanding. You have to decipher all the information, not easy, but not impossible.
I don’t think anything natural is going to happen. I see people panicking though and going on riots though. It’s creepy though, I have believed I was going to die at 22 since I was five, long before I knew about 2012, and it just so happens I turn 22 in that year. So it makes me wonder if I’m going to die from someone robbing me or something.
It scares me to think about it. Just a lot of the theories and the actual prophecy behind it are frightening. It makes you think about your own mortality, and what scares me even more is knowing it’s only 3 years away and I have two young children, that if its true, won’t get to grow up and enjoy life fully. Very sad.
I have met no one who takes this seriously.
Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.
“But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.” (Mark 13:32-33)
Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.
The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.
The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus’ advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.
Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

Please stop worrying and I promise you that all of us will live through to the year 2013. The end of the Mayan calender doesn’t mean that the world is going to end. How would they know when the world is supposed to end?
This small little thing that isn’t even real grew and grew and people thought that they could make money by writing books and making documentaries about it, (and it worked). Please don’t get caught up in this hoax, people are cruel they want you to get scared, they want money.
It just makes me laugh how close minded people are about this subjuct. If you look at all the seperate things that all connect to this date then you will see the truth. You can start by looking at our fossil records. Were do we come from? why are there no transitional bones from Cro -magon to Homo-sapiens so where do we come from? there you can start your path to 2012.
Yes, my husband. That is all he talks about and watches all the show on 2012. He says too many predictions have been made about that date, from Nastrodaumus to the Mayans. He is obsessed with it. I say there is nothing we can do about it, so live each day as it comes with love and joy.

Yes I am concerned that people would make such predictions.It reminds me of the headlines on the Weekly magazines at the checkout in the grocery store.I remember seeing so many such predictions about catastrophes but as far as I know none have happened.
