Hm. Can’t think of a title for this one. Disappointment in Humans, perhaps?

enlightenment 2012

Recently, I have read stories about the Dec. 21, 2012 apocolypse. I have been ambivelent since then. Will the world end? Will we enter an enlightenment? Will nothing happen at all?
Well, looking at the thousands of years humans–not man, mind you, just humans–have walked upon the Earth, I feel ashamed.
Are we going to spend our last four years murdering each other savagely? Are we not going to attempt to bring happiness to the poor, the sick, the starving? Good Lord, I am so disappointed when I look at the world today.
Killings, assasinations, wars, sickness, disease, global warming, idiocracy, what is wrong with us? In what point in time did the human race choose the path of horribleness?
*If* the world will indeed end in 2012, I really do not want it to happen with people starving everywhere. I do not want soldiers to be spending their last minutes killing each other. I do not want last minutes to be spent plotting murderous revenge.
What can we do, if the world will end??

  1. I share your pain. Not necessarily regarding the whole 2012 thing but i feel your pain. Humans have lost their moral fortitudes, as a whole that is. There are still the few that look at the world and idealistically wonder why, and what can we do to change this. Sadly, we are a minority. Some people don’t realize it and most people just don’t care. I wish I could change it. We’ve seen historically that one person can change the course of society and life, but when there is no one around to listen… it’s hard to make that statement. I’m sorry that you have this thought but at the same time I’m proud that you have this thought. There need to be more people who realize the state that the world is in. Forget the end of the world scenario, we just need to learn to be kind to our fellow man– without a motive, just be unconditionally kind.
