Hi, I would like suggestions on teaching/practicing yoga with my kids aged 8 and 5?

kids yoga

How can I make it interesting?Typically what shd the duration of working out with my kids be(eg 30 mins,45 mins?) .My older child needs to reduce a little flab on the tummy and me too. I also need to regulate chronic constipation in my older daughter. What kind of asanas do you suggest, for well beign as well as for the constipation?.Initially I plan to work out with them three times a week as I am a stay at home mom, so I can alternate with sport activities? I would appreciate website suggestions as well.
Thanks,
April.

I applaud you for getting your children involved in a very healthy practice. Start them with just 10 minutes of easy, fun poses and add on 5 minutes a week until you’re up to 30minutes. You can find fun videos for mom and kid yoga.

Please be aware that you are trying to remove the baby fat of an 8 year old who should be worrying about what her dolls are wearing, not the size of her little tummy. That’ll flatten out on it’s own over time. Yoga is fabulous for the constipation though. Try alternating it with Pilates, that would strengthen the core and help as well.
