hi can yoga helpme to overcome from depression?

yoga depression


hi i have depression.why i dont know sometime i become antirly mood off and feel very painful without anyreason i feel very inferior even in my friends also sometimes entire day i feel like that only and once my friend suggested me to practise yoga but i think yoga is entirely related to physical practises .isn’t it? then from that how can i change my mental state.can any one suggest me plz in detail about it and also the perticular postures related tomy problem plzzzzz

    If you don’t have a reason for the depression you should see a doctor to test for chemical imbalance.

    Real Yoga might help but most of what we have in America is just the physical practice. Buddhist meditation might help. Any spiritual practice that you believe in is helpful.

    Yes certainly, yoga is a very effective way to fight problems regarding mental and physical issues, if used properly it can change your whole personality way of thinking and mind set. just anything at all.

    Yoga is not entirely related to physical practices ,
    for example consider your body as a vessel filled with water.
    the vessel represents your physical body and the water represents your mental body or mental state.

    now as long as the vessel shakes the inner water will also shake, in order to calm the water and to make it still you need to stop the vessel from shaking.

    so yoga does it for you , it stabilizes your physical self and as the physical self and mental self are closely related.

    it prepares your physical body for harmony by practicing different postures and in the same time balances your mental body too.
    i also recommend to do some meditation exercise along with yoga to speed your healing.

  3. yoga is very good but it may take some time to see the results.
    I recommend meditation, it really changes you as a person, esp. mentally.

    everyone should meditate regardless but since you have this, there is no better time to start. I mean depression is realted to mind and emotion which is what gets targeted and disipated during meditation.

    I am not going to force anyone, often times I do, even on Yahoo answers, to take control of your own health. if you know better, you’ll follow what i just said.
