Does any one believe 2012?
There is a significant chance that we may experience a pole shift in 2012. Our sun is due for its 11 year cyclical pole shift, at that time. Due to the influence of a planetary alignment, also scheduled, at that time, our Earth may shift its poles too. NASA has already confirmed that the Earth’s north magnetic pole has started to migrate to the South Atlantic. It has also detected a diminishing magnetic field that accompany pole shifts.
According to some Mayans, this date marks the end of the long count of their calendar; Set to end on a winter solstice (12-21-12). On this date, our Solar system will be center aligned , in the Milky Way’s equator. Our sun will be centered in a position called “The Tree of Life”, as it does every 25,800 years. In this position, unusually violent sun spot activity may cause a pole shift. Earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods will run ramped. Significant loss of life will occur. Earths magnetic field will temporarily collapse. Humans will be exposed to a cosmic energy that will facilitate enlightenment. If you would like to read about the Mayans and their predictions for the time, I have summarized them here:
Geologist Gregg Branden gave a lecture back in 1996. He spoke of how ancient traditions and beliefs, of the coming new age, can be explained in the language of modern science. He shows there may definitely be something to the Mayan predictions about a (pole shift) as well as life ending as we know it. In fact, he claims Earth’s rotation as well as its magnetic field are already in a gradual deceleration and decline. Further, at its current rate, both should approach “Zero” on 12/21/2012. His lecture is kind of long (4 hours), but I found it very interesting
It is PROVEN that on December 21, 2012 the milky way COVER the sun! What will happen next is probably proven but nobody will know about it. But i’m not just believing what i read. ITS PROVEN STUFF!!!!!

I do.

To the nay-say’ers: Could be. I’m still bettin on it though simply because i WANT to see the end of the world. I hope yall burn in misery and despair.
It’s a bag of crap and only people living in fantasy land believe it.
“Proven stuff” my butt.
It’s all lies.
well, the mayans did have the most accurate calendar ever made…i dunno…the way i look at it, if the poles do shift, and everything gets screwed all to hell, we can’t really do anything about it…and it might not be a bad thing…we’re gonna destroy this planet ourselves sooner than later…
i believe in this astronomical event, and that shifting planetary/stellar energies do have an effect upon the earth and all Her populations. i think its probably real, by the myan concept that time is cyclical. the mayans have had mainy such prophecies come true, or so it appears.
however, i take nothing on mere faith, but on facts, but i think its posible, yeah.
There are so many things coinciding on that date. Even NASA is predicting a major solar storm on 2012. I suggest you check
And feel free to contact me if you want.
Answer: I believe that on December 21, 2012 that some people will be celebrating Yule, some will be preparing for Christmas and some will just be living their lives with no specific holiday they are celebrating at that time.
Other than that, I believe that one “long count” in the Mayan Calendar will end and another will begin. From our point-of-view the Sun will align with the center of the Milky Way, but will not be “covered” by it.
i don’t believe this stuff. Some people always believe that because some planetary alignment , we are all going to hell in a hand basket .
Listen , people need to stop acting like we are the Mayans afraid of the sun rising. First of all the Mayan calender does not end in 2012. The piece of the one they have found does , but they have prooved that there are missing pieces to this calendar. That’s like saying that if you had a calendar that ended in OCT then after that would be the new year.
Don’t believe all these DOOMSDAY PROPHECIES people spout out to scare you.
Maya stelae occasionally show dates beyond 2012. Most of these are in the form of “distance dates”, where a Long Count date is given with a distance date to be added. For example, on the Tablet of Inscriptions from Palenque the following Long Count date was found: 9.8.9.13.0 8 Ahau 13 Pop (24 March 603 Gregorian) with a distance date of 10.11.10.5.8. The resulting date is given as 1.0.0.0.0.8 5 Lamat 1 Mol,or 21 October 4772 – almost 3,000 years into the future. The king Pacal of Palenque predicted that on this date the eightieth Calendar Round anniversary of his accession will be celebrated, suggesting he did not believe the world would end in 2012
You now, there are a lot of times I see these scientists predict something through years and years of study to have their prediction come to pass with exact or near exact results to their predictions. Then they scream from the rooftops, “SEE, I WAS RIGHT”. However, there were ways that they could’ve predicted these events without years of study.
All they had to do to make an educated was was to pay attention to what’s going on around them, pick up a King James version of the Bible, and read Revelations.
no its just their opinions and those ppl were very violent..
The answer is, “I don’t know, and I don’t want to know.” Because your question was too long and boring to read. Bye, have a nice day and a wonderful 2012 in advance.
nope at all…keep scientist investigate it….
> our Earth may shift its poles too…
Yes the *magnetic* poles do move. The earth’s magnetic poles shift every few million years. It’s happened many, many times in the past, and it’s a slow process. There are no mass extinctions correlated with it.
> Further, at its current rate, both should approach “Zero” on 12/21/2012.
Absolutely NOT. The Earth will NOT stop spinning (there’s no mechanism for it to stop spinning)
> It is PROVEN that on December 21, 2012 the milky way COVER the sun!
Nope. We, and our sun are part of the milky way. The rest of the milky way is many light years from us. It cannot “Cover the sun”
The Mayan Long Count calendar last rolled over on August 11, 3114 BCE. Nothing happened then, nothing will happen in 2012. Why would it?
Nothing’s going to happen. Forget about it.
Let’s just wait and see, scientifically this is exciting and historically too coz for the Mayans to have that accurate a calendar with astrological events to back it up is amazing…Don’t forget Nastradamus also predicts a major change in 2012(though his is vague as usual)
I am ready to wait,if all is good we’ll all be fine and dandy. Living through it would be a cool experience on its own, just like living through 31st December 1999.
There has always been a “significant chance” of a pole shift. 12/21/2012 is no different than any other date. There will be an alignment, to be certain, but its gravitational impact won’t be felt for years and if it should have an impact, then it could happen as we approach or leave that “fateful” date.
“The Tree of Life” has many different interpretations, so many of them could be bogus. There is no solid evidence that a polar shift (even of the magnetic poles) have happened every 25,800 years. You’ve been fed a lot of man-made horse manure about the whole thing.
If you are really concerned about the future, then don’t wait. Start living every day of the rest of your life as if it was the last day of your life. Then, any huge events of this nature won’t make the least amount of difference. Besides, there is a fair chance that you’ll die before that date, anyway.
Edit: T-1000 — living through 12/31/1999 was a boring night for those of us tied to the computer industry. At least (I hope) 2012 doesn’t carry any of the same problems that some of that old software did.
The Mayans ‘long count’ calender has proven to be extremely accurate. They believed that every day is predictable because every cycle repeats itself. However, it does not necessarily mean the ‘end of the world’ as many are misinterpreting it.
The Mayans simply believed the 12th cycle will come to pass and the world will revert back to it’s 1st cycle again. If there were a pole shift due to solar activity, then it would apparently happen instantaneously, ie we’d be killed instantly. It’s far too unlikely though. It’s not the end of the world mate, don’t worry.
1-polar shift >>>zzzzz
2-Mayan prediction >>>big woop
3-riiiiiiiiiight .
Everything you have listed seem to point to 2012, But don’t dwell on it. Pray Hope and Don’t Worry. Look around and see how we will be living with whole mess, everything is sky rocketing starting with gas, During the roman times all the pagans had everything money wealth good housing etc. lying on their pillows eating grapes, drinking wine and partying all the time and the Jews had nothing, poor housing, sparse food. and did all the work. Now look at our time Not that their pagans, but the rich get richer and the poor are struggling to make ends meet, plus coming down the road in the near future, the middle class will be struggling too. In the end those who have everything will end up with nothing and those who have nothing will have everything (our eternal life with His Majesty The King of kings) So again PRAY HOPE AND DON’T WORRY! That’s what Padra Pie said. For we don’t know when the pointed time is really, only God. God Bless you.
The Mayan calender is accurate, astronomically.
People have an idea that previous civilizations were primitive, because we are the most advanced; that is an arrogant assumption.
They had systems to detect tectonic activity, that could work as early warnings for volcanoes and tsunamis. They built structures that boggle the minds of modern engineers.
Their maths and astronomy was top-notch.
However, cosmological events do not always happen they are due, depending on what the event is. For a pole shift, we do not really know what the window is, as this has never been observed; nor do we know that it will actually ever happen, as it has never been observed.
I do not know that it will cause global extinction. The only thing that would change is the direction of the magnetism of the Earth’s core. Potentially the change of magnetic field could cause an electrical current; similar to a turbine, but it is through the centre of the Earth, and the electrical charge that is felt on the surface may well be negligible.
Alternately, it could mean global electrocution… In that case, we really will not know…
The milky way will cover the sun???
Huh??
The stars are light-years away from us. The only way the stars could come between us and the sun is if realtiy collapsed in upon itself, and that is due to happen about… NEVER.
Or do you mean that we will be in the matter-dense spiral arm of our galaxy?
The milky way is a spiral arm of our galaxy, and it is behind us. We are not due to pass through the next spiral arm for another 60 000 years (that figure may not be accurate, I remember it as 60 000, my memory could be hazy) Not for a very long time.
The Mayan long count has already reset to zero twice before now, this will just mark the third occasion it’s happened.
If the Mayans had some kind of fantastical future vision accurate enough to predict disasters in our era, how come they completely failed to predict their annihilation at the hands of the Spanish?
Life ending as we know it does not automatically mean a bad thing, it certainly doesn’t mean we’re all going to die it just means that there will be a change. For example the techno singularity (co-incidentally expected between 2013 and 2025) will mean and end of life as we know it but it will likely constitute a massive increase in our lifespans and our quality of life rather than us all being killed by sentient computers.
If an impending disaster such as a catastrophic shift in the earths magnetic field or whatever is going to happen in 2012 then there’s NOTHING we can do about it and as such worrying about it is completely pointless. people have always been afraid of the future and if I had the time I could list thousands of dates in the past which have been predicted as the end of the world and yet here we all are.
