Did Bobby Jindal Hurt His Chances In The 2012 Presidential Race By Giving The Rebuttal The Other Night?

Why would the GOP railroad an up and coming star in the party like that?
Until the rebuttal, I actually thought that Jindal had the best chance at upsetting Obama in 2012.
I don’t see how any Republican is going to stand a chance against Obama in 2012 now.

Hurt? He committed poltical suicide on national TV

Just because he is not a great speaker is no reason to bash him. Its the CONTENT that matters not the way they say it! Thats the problem wih Obama- he is a great speaker but lies all the time and the content is BS!
Jindal meant his words and has a CORE belief he stands by.he just needs to get more use to speaking- he has 4 years to train.

I have no idea what the GOP plans to do in 2012…and as a democrat I don’t know if i should hope it’s Jindal or not. The man’s an idiot and talks to the American people like their toddlers.
Oh yeah, and lets complain about how atrociously Bush handled Hurricane Katrina, and then b*tch about spending money on disaster prevention. Real smart.
I know there are intelligent Republicans out there, I just wish the GOP would stop insulting us by trying to get their dumb ones elected…like Palin.

It certainly didn’t help his public image, but the election is a long way off, and political memories are short and easily distracted. Jindal’s got three years to round up the money, hire the right imagemakers, make the right friends in the national party, and learn to stop waving his hands frantically every time he gives a televised address.

yes, even the republicans werent happy reagrding the rebuttal.
if i were him, i would have praised obama for what he is trying to do, be more supportive towards the dems, you know, play the diplomat card, and go from there. he cant outwit obama with speeches, so he needs to take another approach with the american people

I think he blew it big time. Recall how Sarah blew it during interviews and debate.
Drew M: Obama is not telling lies. He has been consistent in his approach to the goals he set for himself since the campaign began. Quite unlike McCain who said the economy was strong, then turn around and said the economy was a mess; said he wanted to go back to the White House and help fix the mess but instead got nothing out of it – only that he “suspended his campaign”….Wow…. that was a joke.

What is sad to me is this, people really are going to fall for it.
The GOP needs a brown face with a funny name to make the appearance of diversity in their party.

Bill Clinton bombed big time giving the keynote address at the Democratic convention in 1988. (The audience cheered wildly when he said “In conclusion…..”) And look what happened to him four years later

  9. Shadow Knight

People have very short memories, so I doubt he did anything but help his chances in 2012.
I agree though that Obama will more than likely win a second term.

That image of him walking around the corner up to the camera is emblazoned on everyone’s brain. He is a huge DORK!

not in the least. Surely his “genius” would have shined though no matter when he opened his mouth. Instead of finding out how brilliant he is then, we found out sooner.

  12. Croaker

    Jindal won’t run in 2012.
The GOP will throw out a sucker like the sap who ran against reagan in 84 or Dole in 96.

  13. Colette Pioline ART

    Yes, he did.
I honestly don’t understand why he didn’t get better coaching.

  14. Will Gill

I wondered why he was talking like that, it was weird. People know his name now, but Im not sure its for the right reason.

  15. Tubby

I hope so. The GOP needs to quit relying on neo-conservatives to run for office.

  16. Forget War Buy More

The GOP needs to hire some media coaches ASAP.
    And find their voice.

I’m on the right side of the fence and yes, he sucks.
    sounded like howdy doody!

Basically the night went like this.
Obama’s speech – great style, stupid ideas = Liberal talk show hosts loved it.
Jindal’s rebuttal – No / poor style, actually had some very good points = liberal talk show hosts think he is not presidential material
I cannot believe the amount of idiots who harped on the point that Jindal didnt understand why we had the Volcano monitoring in the stimulus bill. They yelled Jindal is an idiot if he doesn’t understand why we need to monitor volcanoes.
Those idiots were too stupid to understand that the point is – what does volcano monitoring have to do with stimulating the economy ????????

  19. madd texan

No he didn’t hurt his chances. It’s 4 years until the next presidential election. Did Obama’s “57 states” comment hurt his chances? How about his clinging to God and guns comment? Jindal was on the morning shows the next morning and was fantastic.
Wow, 4 thumbs down for reminding everyone that Obama had bad t.v. moments too. You people really think he can do no wrong.

  20. dukemack

If Obama actually implements his tax and burn plan, with the expected depression, the repubs could run Nixon’s corpse and win. I couldn’t have imagined that at a time of financial weakness, a Pres would actually propose the crushing tax increases in his plan.

  21. Big Jon

The only thing he did to hurt his chances in 2012 is to make himself a target of the Mainstream Media Propaganda Arm of the Dimmocraps. Before the year is over, we will all know the locations of his warts and where his “bones” are buried …

  22. Joe Brainless

If you’re not going to vote for him,why do you care. He’s 37 years old and has accomplished a lot so far. Give him some time. After all the nit wit in the White House was rushed too soon.

  23. Traveling as: Joe Doaks (LLC)

The rebuttal was fine not A-kissy, the Democrats can teach him that
