College applications and clubs?

yoga aids

Is it bad that I haven’t really participated in any clubs? :( There was one that I went to about a year and but I didn’t hold any important position and was just a “member.”

But besides from school, I do do community service like the AIDS walk, helping out at the public library~ and I plan to do more

And extracurricular activities look good on college apps, correct?
Can I add that I am learning how to play piano?
Or that I did yoga (for some time)?
Or that I can speak Chinese, and that I took two years of Spanish, and I am planning on learning either Japanese or Korean?

And I am taking four AP classes and doing well in all of them.. I have a pretty high GPA.. so that must be a plus, right?

Well anyways, my question was if clubs are really that important and if my “extracuricular activities”(if you can call it that) will cover my idleness.

(I’m already in the 11th grade)

  1. community service is really important.
    join a club or two.

colleges like to see that students are well-rounded and involved

  2. Hello there,

I gotta say that you are well on track to set up your college application I wouldn’t say that it is bad to not join a club while in high school, but I would highly recommend it. Try to make the best out of high school while you can since you can get affiliated with people from clubs, and who knows maybe sometimes they can even do letters of recommendation for colleges.

Kudos on the community service I am pretty sure that whichever college you apply to will love to see all those community service hours, but as for extra curricular activities they are not that important. I would put there that you do know other languages apart from English tho and also your ambitions that you want to know learn other languages, but not the yoga deal, or the piano lessons.

Other than that you are on the track to getting into college, (which? I don’t know but I wouldn’t doubt that high tier schools wouldn’t mind taking you in, specially with the fact that you are taking AP classes They love seeing students who are dedicated to their education) You will be fine, but like I stated before I would recommend for you to enroll in clubs or a club that suits your interests, and that will also look good on your application. good luck!!!
