12/21/2012, this fascinates me?
Some people say it is the end of humanity.
Other people think its going to begin a time of enlightenment.
What do you guys think?
I am not saying that I believe anything is going to happen. So do not direct your answers to me. I am curious to hear people’s opinions. Lately I have read a lot of hype about this.

I think its EXACTLY like y2k. People are so stupid that they dont see history repeating itself. Its amazing how convincing hysteria and pure stupidity can be on people. 12/21/2012 is just a date created by an ancient civilization whose history has been fogged and muddied by myths, twisted facts, and legends.
When 12/22/2012 comes, you will feel a bit foolish.
I think it’s nothing. The Mayans just didn’t think the world would be around this long, so they saw no point in continuing the calendar. They weren’t predicting the end of the world or a time of enlightenment. It’s the end of a calendar, not the end of the world. No one has the power to predict that sort of thing, although the Mayans were great astronomers. And it has been proven that an astroid is supposed to be plummeting towards Earth at about that time, but it’s projected to be a near miss. It is quite coincidental, but that’s all it is, a coincidence.
I think it’s a day in December of the year 2012.
There have been numerous “end of the world” predictions over time, and we’re still here. Beginning of a time of enlightenment, a major spiritual shift in the world, all of that – it might be nice, but I’m not going to hold my breath given the amount of bickering, intolerance and bigotry that is still going on among humans today.
I have more important things to focus my time and energy on then one day over 3 years away. Nobody knows what will happen this day – maybe nothing at all of interest.

Yes it’s the 21st ..the Winter solstice. People have been worried about the solstice for thousands of years….nothing has happened – yet!
This is just another dumb hoax, like dozens in history. There’s absolutely no good reason to believe such a dumb prediction that has no real basis.
